Connect your Microsoft account to Momentum Tasks to manage your Microsoft To Do lists and tasks directly from your dashboard. Changes sync both ways, completing a task in Momentum marks it complete in Microsoft To Do, and vice versa.
💡 Note: My Day, recurring tasks, and smart lists are unique to the Microsoft To Do app and aren't currently available in Momentum. For these, head to Microsoft To Do directly, any changes you make there will sync back.
Momentum Plus Exclusive
To use the Microsoft To Do integration, you'll need:
- An active Momentum Plus subscription
- A Microsoft account
Connect Microsoft To Do to Momentum
Before getting started, make sure you have a Microsoft account. If you don't have one yet, create one at microsoft.com ↗.
- Open Tasks from the bottom right of your dashboard
- Click the dropdown next to your task list name
- Click Connect integration
- Choose Microsoft To Do
- Log in and authorize your Microsoft To Do account
Once connected, your Microsoft To Do tasks will appear in Momentum.
Switch to Microsoft To Do
If your lists don't appear right after connecting:
- Click Tasks ∨ (top left of the Tasks panel) to open the integration list
- Select Microsoft To Do
Manage your Microsoft To Do tasks
Add a task
- Click New task (bottom of Tasks)
- Type the task name
- Press Enter
Edit a task
- Double-click the task
- Make your changes
- Press Enter
Complete a task
Click the checkbox next to the task
The task is marked complete in both Momentum and Microsoft To Do.
Delete a task
- Click ··· next to the task
- Click Delete
Switch lists
You can switch between your Microsoft To Do lists directly from the Momentum dashboard in a few ways.
- Click the dropdown ∨ next to the list name at the top of the Tasks panel
- Click Expand View in the Tasks panel.
Select a list from the left sidebar.
Keyboard shortcut: Press ← or → while the Tasks panel is open to switch between lists.
Move a task to another list
Moving tasks between lists is done in Microsoft To Do, any changes you make there will sync back to Momentum automatically.
- Click ··· next to the task
- Click View in Microsoft To Do
- In Microsoft To Do, move the task to your preferred list
- Head back to Momentum, the updated list assignment will be reflected automatically
List options
Click ··· (More options) next to a list name to open list settings.
- Show top task in center — Pin the top task to the center of your dashboard
- Show completed — Choose how long completed tasks stay visible: Never or Forever
- View in Microsoft To Do — Open the list in Microsoft To Do for full editing and advanced options
- Stay open — Keep the Tasks panel open when you click elsewhere on the dashboard
- Use subtasks for top task in center — Include subtasks when determining the top task shown in the center
- Always show subtasks — Display subtasks inline beneath each task in the list
Task options
Click ··· next to a task to:
- Add a subtask
- Set as Daily Goal
- Move the task to another list
- View the task in Microsoft To Do
- Duplicate the task
- Delete the task
Disconnect Microsoft To Do
- Open Tasks from the bottom right of your dashboard
- Click the dropdown next to your task list name
- Click Manage integration
- Click disconnect Microsoft To do
Your Microsoft To Do tasks are removed from Momentum Tasks.

Q: Why can't I see My Day or recurring tasks?
A: These features are not supported in Momentum due to Microsoft API limitations. Open the task in Microsoft To Do to manage them.
Q: Why don't I see my lists after connecting?
A: Click ··· (top right of Tasks) → Switch to… → Microsoft To Do. If lists still don't appear, disconnect and reconnect the integration.
Q: Why do I see the same task in multiple places?
A: Tasks appear in multiple views simultaneously. This is the same task shown in different places, not a duplicate.
Q: How do I switch to a different Microsoft account?
A: Disconnect Microsoft To Do in Settings, then reconnect the integration and log in with the account you want to use.
