Momentum's Clock keeps the current time visible right on your dashboard, so you can stay aware of your schedule without leaving your new tab. You can display it as a standard time format or as a percentage of the day passed, whichever helps you stay on track.
💡 Why it helps: Keeping time visible helps you stay mindful of your schedule, track your progress through the day, and manage tasks and deadlines without constantly checking another app.

Choose your Clock format
Momentum lets you customize how time is displayed on your dashboard. You can switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, and you can also enable Percent Clock as an alternative view.
There are two places to control your clock format, depending on which format you want:
Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour:
Method 1: From Settings
- Open :settings-2: Settings go to General, and scroll to Clock Format.
- Choose 12-hour or 24-hour.
Method 2: From your dashboard
- Click the 3 dots beside the current time in the center of your dashboard.
- You'll see "24-hour clock" with a toggle. Turn it on for 24-hour format, or off for 12-hour format.
💡 Tip: If you've added World Clocks as a metric, switching between 12-hour and 24-hour format here also updates the format your World Clocks display.
Switch to Percent Clock
- Click the 3 dots beside the current time in the center of your dashboard.
- Next to the current mode ("clock"), click the circular arrows icon.
- Choose percent of the day.
💡 Tip: Percent Clock calculates its percentage based on the Hours of the day you've set under :settings-2: Settings > Balance > Uptime Schedule, not a full 24-hour day. By default, this is set to 9:00-5:00.
Set your hours of the day
Your Percent Clock reflects whichever Hours of the day you've chosen under :settings-2: Settings > Balance > Uptime Schedule. This works independently of whether Balance Mode itself is turned on or off.
- Open :settings-2: Settings and go to Balance.
- Under Uptime Schedule, choose one of the default options: 8:30-4:30, 9:00-5:00, or 9:30-5:30.
- Your Percent Clock updates to reflect the hours you selected.

Fix common Clock issues
The Clock shows the wrong time or won't update
Momentum uses your device's system time and timezone, so a display issue here is usually a device setting rather than a Momentum bug.
- Check your computer's system time and timezone settings.
- Restart your browser, then open a new Momentum tab.
- If the Clock still shows the wrong timezone, see Clock displaying incorrect timezone ↗ for more in-depth troubleshooting.
- If the issue persists after that, try resetting or reinstalling your browser.
The Clock isn't showing up
On narrower screens, there may not be enough room for every dashboard element to display, including the Clock.
- Zoom out in your browser to free up space: press
ctrl-on Windows orcmd-on Mac. - This shrinks the dashboard layout so the Clock can reappear.
Adjusting your zoom level is currently the best way to bring back the Clock on a smaller screen.
FAQs
:::faq
Q: Can I show more than one time format at once?
A: No, the Clock displays one format at a time. You can switch between 12-hour, 24-hour anytime from :settings-2: Settings > General > Clock Format.
Q: Does the Clock use my computer's timezone automatically?
A: Yes. Momentum pulls the time and timezone directly from your device's system settings, so make sure those are accurate if the Clock looks off.
Q: Why does my Clock disappear on certain screens?
A: Very narrow screens may not have enough room to display every dashboard element. Zooming out in your browser usually brings the Clock back into view.
Q: What does the Percent Clock actually show?
A: Percent Clock shows how much of your set Hours of the day has passed, based on the Uptime Schedule you've chosen under :settings-2: Settings > Balance. By default, this is 9:00-5:00, so the percentage reflects your progress through that window rather than the full 24-hour day.
Q: Can I set a custom range for my Percent Clock?
A: The default Hours of the day options are 8:30-4:30, 9:00-5:00, and 9:30-5:30. Setting a custom range is a Momentum Plus feature, available under :settings-2: Settings > Balance > Uptime Schedule.
Q: If I switch to 24-hour format, will my World Clocks change too?
A: Yes. If you've added World Clocks as a metric, they'll follow the same 12-hour or 24-hour format as your main Clock.
