The Bookmarks Bar brings your browser's saved sites directly onto your Momentum dashboard, so your favorite links are always within reach. It stays in sync with your browser in real time, so any changes you make there appear in Momentum automatically.
💡 Tip: Keeping your bookmarks on your dashboard means you can jump straight to your most-used sites without opening a new tab or digging through your browser's bookmark menu.
Enable or disable the Bookmarks Bar
- Open Settings :settings-2:
- Go to General and find Bookmarks Bar under the Apps section.
- Toggle the switch on or off.
- When prompted, click Allow to let Momentum sync with your browser's bookmarks.
Your bookmarks will appear on your dashboard right away.
Customize the Bookmarks Bar
You can adjust how the Bookmarks Bar looks and behaves to match your workflow.
- Open Settings :settings-2:
- Scroll to the Bookmarks Bar section.
- Adjust any of the options below. Changes apply immediately.

Show chrome tab options
Controls where a shortcut to open a standard Chrome browser tab appears. Choose from:
- Links: adds the shortcut inside the Links panel
- Bookmarks: adds it directly to the Bookmarks Bar
- Dash: shows a Chrome icon shortcut on your dashboard
- None: no shortcut is shown
Open links in new tab: When enabled, clicking any link or bookmark always opens a new browser tab. When disabled, links open in the current tab. This applies to Links, the Bookmarks Bar, and Launchpad links.

Momentum mirrors your browser's bookmarks exactly. To add, remove, or reorganize bookmarks, make changes directly in your browser and Momentum will sync automatically.

Troubleshooting
Two bookmarks bars appearing
⚠️ Known issue: If you're seeing two bookmarks bars, this is a known Chrome 148 bug affecting all new tab page extensions, not specific to Momentum. The usual shortcuts to hide Chrome's bar may not work on the new tab page right now. See reports from Chrome users ↗
To fix it: Keep Chrome up to date. A fix is already in the works and will roll out automatically.
In the meantime: You can disable the Momentum Bookmarks Bar in Settings to avoid seeing two bars. Note that you'll still see the Chrome bar, which currently cannot be hidden due to this bug. Your browser bookmarks are not deleted or affected, and you can re-enable the Momentum Bookmarks Bar anytime from Settings.
If you see two bookmarks bars, it means both Momentum's Bookmarks Bar and your browser's native bookmarks bar are visible at the same time. Hide your browser's bar to keep things tidy and Momentum's Bookmarks Bar will stay fully visible.

Right-click the Library icon in the top right of your browser and uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar.

Q: Why don't I see my bookmarks after enabling the bar?
A: Make sure you clicked Allow when prompted during setup. Momentum needs permission to read your browser's bookmarks. If you missed that step, toggle the Bookmarks Bar off and back on in Settings to trigger the permission prompt again.
Q: Can I add or edit bookmarks from inside Momentum?
A: Bookmarks are read-only inside Momentum. To add, remove, or reorganize them, make changes directly in your browser and they'll sync to Momentum automatically.
Q: Will disabling the Bookmarks Bar delete my bookmarks?
A: No. Disabling the Bookmarks Bar only hides it from your dashboard. Your bookmarks remain saved in your browser and will reappear if you re-enable the bar.
Q: My bookmarks changed in the browser but haven't updated in Momentum yet. What should I do?
A: Try opening a new tab. If the update still hasn't appeared, toggle the Bookmarks Bar off and back on in Settings to prompt a fresh sync.
Q: Why do I see two bookmarks bars?
