Ask AI brings a built-in assistant right into your Momentum dashboard, so you can brainstorm, draft, and problem-solve without opening a new tab or copying and pasting between tools. Whether you're outlining ideas, writing a draft, or just want help summarizing a thought, Ask AI is there the moment you need it.

Turn Ask AI on or off

Ask AI has a toggle that controls its availability in the center search bar.

Open :settings-2: Settings
Go to General → Apps
Toggle Ask AI on or off

💡 Note: This toggle doesn't affect Ask AI in Notes. The AI menu inside Notes stays available even if you turn this off.

Use Ask AI in Notes

Ask AI works like a writing partner built into your Notes app, right in the toolbar of any note. Fix spelling, summarize a note, generate an outline, translate into another language, and more, all without leaving your note.

Use Ask AI from the center search bar

For quick, one-off questions or a burst of inspiration, you can prompt Ask AI directly from your center search bar, no need to open the full panel first.

Open :settings-2: Settings then scroll to Below the center
Toggle on enable section
Enable Search & links
Type your prompt into the center search bar
Submit with cmd enter (Mac) or ctrl enter (Windows)

Your prompt opens directly in the Ask AI panel with your result.

Manage your Ask AI panel

Once the Ask AI panel is open, you can adjust how much space it takes up on your dashboard:

Hide the sidebar — click Hide sidebar to give the panel more room
Go full screen — click the full screen icon in the upper right of the panel; click it again to exit full screen

Retry or edit a prompt

Didn't get the answer you were looking for? You don't need to start a new chat to try again.

Retry a response — click Retry on any answer to have Ask AI generate a new response to the same prompt
Edit a prompt — click the pencil icon next to a prompt you've already sent to update or refine it, then resubmit

Delete an Ask AI chat

To remove a past conversation:

Select the chat from the sidebar showing your chat history
Click the trash icon in the upper right
Confirm by clicking Yes

Once a chat is deleted, it can't be restored.

Q: Is my Ask AI chat history saved?

A: Chat history isn't saved yet. We're working on bringing this to Ask AI in a future update.

Q: Can I delete an Ask AI conversation?

A: Yes. Select the chat from your history sidebar, click the trash icon in the upper right, and confirm. Once deleted, a chat can't be restored.

Q: Do I need Momentum Plus to use Ask AI?

A: Yes. Ask AI is available exclusively to Momentum Plus members.
