Sync your Basecamp account with your Momentum Tasks, so you can view, add, edit, reorder, and complete your Basecamp tasks within Momentum. The changes you make to your Basecamp tasks within Momentum will appear in Basecamp and vice versa.

Connecting the integration

Before connecting to the Basecamp 3 integration, you'll need a Basecamp 3 account. If you don't have a Basecamp 3 account already, you can create one for free on Basecamp 3's website.

To connect to Momentum's Basecamp 3 integration:

1. Click the Settings ⚙️icon at the bottom left corner of Momentum.
2. Click Todo on the left side of Momentum's Settings ⚙️menu.
3. Scroll down to the Integrations section of the Todo settings, and then click the + Add Integration button.
4. Select Basecamp 3 and then click Connect. A secure window will open for you to login to/authorize your Basecamp 3 account.
5. Log in to your existing Basecamp 3 account's Email Address & Password (or choose to login to a Google account), and then click the Yes, I'll allow access button.
6. Click Todo at the bottom right corner of Momentum to access your Basecamp 3 projects and tasks within Momentum.

Once connected, you'll be able to access your Basecamp 3 tasks and projects/lists in Momentum's Todo.

If your Basecamp 3 tasks and projects aren't displaying after connecting:

1. Click Todo at the bottom right corner of Momentum to open the Todo menu
2. Click the ellipsis (...) at the top right corner of the Todo menu
3. Click the Switch to... option
4. Select Basecamp 3.

Pro tip: You can also hold down Shift and then press the ← or → arrow keys on your keyboard while the Todo menu is open, to quickly switch between your Basecamp 3 integration and any other Todo integrations/sources that you're connected to.

Adding, editing, reordering and deleting your Basecamp 3 tasks

Adding, editing, reordering, and deleting tasks is done in the same way that you would your Momentum todo items. 

Adding a new task

To add a new task:

1. Click New Todo at the bottom left of the Todo menu
2. Type in your task
3. Press the enter/return ↵ key on your keyboard. 

Editing a task

To edit a task:

1. Double-click on it
2. Make your changes
3. Press the enter/return ↵ key on your keyboard.

Reordering your tasks

To move a task to a different spot in your list, click, drag and drop it up or down the list. 

Deleting a task

To delete a task:

1. Hover your mouse cursor over a task
2. Click the ellipsis (...) that appears to the right of it
3. Select the Delete option. 

Switching between your Basecamp 3 projects and lists

Switching between projects

To switch between your Basecamp 3 projects:

1. Click the menu icon (☰) or the Basecamp 3 icon at the top left corner of the Todo menu
2. Click the project that you want to switch to from the drop-down.

Pro tip: Hold the alt key and press the ↑ or ↓ arrow keys on your keyboard while the Todo menu is open to quickly switch between your Basecamp 3 projects. 

Switching between lists

To switch between your Basecamp 3 lists:

1. Click the List name at the top of the Todo menu
2. Select the list that you want to switch to from the drop-down.

Pro tip: You can also press the ← or → arrow keys on your keyboard while your Todo menu is open to quickly switch between your lists. 

Basecamp 3 task filters

Momentum's Basecamp 3 integration includes a couple of additional filters to help give you a clearer view of your tasks. All of these filters can be found by clicking ... at the top right corner of the Todo menu.

Assigned to me

The Assigned to me filter displays only the tasks that are assigned to you.

To enable this filter:

1. Click the ellipsis (...) at the top right corner of the Todo menu
2. Select the Assigned to me option. Clicking the Assigned to me option again will disable it.

Show all completed

The Show all completed filter will display your completed tasks alongside your uncompleted ones.

To enable this filter:

1. Click the ellipsis (...) at the top right corner of the Todo menu
2. Select the Show all completed tasks option. Clicking the Show all completed tasks option again will disable it.

Viewing in Basecamp 3

The View in Basecamp 3 options redirect you to Basecamp 3's website, so you can take a closer look at and make more detailed changes to your projects and tasks in Basecamp 3's native environment.

Viewing a project in Basecamp 3

To view a project in Basecamp 3:

1. Click the ellipsis (...) at the top right corner of the Todo menu
2. Select the View in Basecamp 3 option.

Viewing a task in Basecamp 3

To view a task in Basecamp 3:

1. Hover your mouse cursor over the task
2. Click the ellipsis (...) that appears to the right
3. Select the View in Basecamp 3 option.
