Momentum works even without an account. You can use its core features while keeping your data stored locally on your device. If you decide to sync your data across devices or back it up to the cloud, you can create a Momentum account at any time.
What happens while you're logged out
When you use Momentum without an account:
- Your data is stored locally in your current browser.
- Your data isn't synced across devices or browsers.
- Your data isn't backed up to your Momentum account.
- You can still use core Momentum features, including Daily Goals, Tasks, Links, Quotes, and dashboard customization.
💡 Good to know
Data created while logged out remains on your current browser. If you clear your browser data, remove the extension, or switch to another browser or device, that data won't be available.
Use Momentum while logged out
You can start using Momentum immediately without creating an account.
To continue without an account:
- Install the Momentum extension.
- When the account creation screen appears, click Stay logged out.
- Continue setting up and using Momentum.
Your dashboard and preferences will be saved locally on your current browser.
Create an account later
You can create a Momentum account at any time if you'd like to sync your dashboard across devices.
To create an account:
- Open Settings :settings-2:
- Select Log In / Sign Up.
- Choose your preferred sign-in method.
- Follow the prompts to complete your account setup.
Once your account is created, any new data you add will sync across your signed-in devices.
⚠️ Important
Data created while logged out won't automatically transfer to your new account. If there's information you'd like to keep, recreate it after signing in.
What changes after creating an account
Creating a Momentum account lets you:
- Sync your dashboard across multiple devices and browsers.
- Back up your Momentum data.
- Access your dashboard wherever you sign in.
