If you've decided to stop using Momentum, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data. This removes your personal information, preferences, and saved content from our servers.
Because this action is permanent, it's worth taking a moment to understand what happens and review a few alternatives before you proceed.
Why you might delete your account
You may choose to delete your account if you:
- No longer use Momentum
- Want to start fresh with a new account
- Prefer to have all your data fully removed
Before deleting, make sure you've saved anything you'd like to keep. Once your account is deleted, it can't be undone.
What happens when you delete your account
When you delete your Momentum account:
- Your personal data is scheduled for permanent removal within 30 days
- Tasks, Links, Daily Goals, preferences, and settings are deleted
- Any active Momentum Plus subscription is automatically canceled
- You lose access to your account immediately
- Synced data across devices is removed
⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent. Your data, preferences, and history cannot be recovered.
Before you delete
You may want to consider these options first:

Take a break instead
You can stop using Momentum without deleting your account. Your data will stay saved if you decide to return later. -
Save important information
If you want to keep Tasks, Links, or notes, export or copy them before deleting. -
Cancel Plus without deleting your account
If your main concern is billing, you can cancel your Momentum Plus subscription while keeping your free account. → See Cancelling Plus subscription
Delete your account
If you're on Momentum Dash 2.27.1 or later
- Open :settings-2: Settings in the bottom left corner.
- Click your profile card near the bottom left. It shows your name and profile photo.
- Scroll down to the bottom of your account settings.
- Click Delete account.
What happens next depends on whether you have an active Momentum Plus subscription.
If you don't have an active subscription
A confirmation window will appear.
- Type
deleteto confirm that you want to permanently delete your account. - Click Delete my account.
If you change your mind, click Keep my account instead.
⚠️ Important: Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
If you have an active subscription
You can't delete your account while you have an active subscription. Momentum will prompt you to cancel your subscription first.
- Click Go to Subscription.
- Cancel your active subscription.
- Return to your account settings and select Delete account again.
- Follow the deletion confirmation steps.
If you don't want to continue, click Cancel to keep your account.
If you're on an earlier version
You can also delete your account from your Momentum Profile:
- Open :settings-2: Settings in the bottom left corner.
- Click the arrow next to your name or profile photo.
- Select Profile. This opens in a new tab.
- Click Delete.
- Select Delete account.
- Follow the confirmation steps to permanently delete your account.

🧹 Your deletion request is processed right away, and all data will be fully removed from our servers within 30 days.
What happens to your subscription
If you have an active Momentum Plus subscription, you'll need to cancel it before you can delete your account.
When you select Delete account while you have an active subscription, Momentum will let you know that the subscription must be canceled first. Select Go to Subscription to open your subscription settings and cancel.
Once your subscription is canceled, return to your account settings to continue deleting your account.
If you only want to cancel Plus and keep your account, cancel your subscription instead of deleting your account. You may also visit the Cancelling Plus subscription article for more information.
After deletion
Once your account is deleted:
- Within 30 days: All personal data is fully removed
- Account recovery: Not possible after deletion
- Using Momentum again: You'll need to create a new account
- Momentum Plus: A new subscription is required if you want Plus features again
Your previous data and settings won't carry over.
Data retention and privacy
We take privacy seriously. When you delete your account:
- Personal data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Some anonymized data may be retained for analytics only
- Payment records may be kept where legally required for accounting
- No personal information remains once deletion is complete
