With Momentum's Metrics you can add and update key performance indicators and other useful personal or professional data directly on your dashboard. Metrics cleanly display at the top right of Momentum. You can add Metrics manually, connect to third-party Metric integrations, or via API address.

Enabling Metrics
To turn the Metric feature on or off:
- Visit the General section of Momentum's Settings ⚙️
- Find the Metric option underneath the Show heading
- Click the switch to the right of it.
When Metrics are enabled, + Metric (or your existing Metrics) will display at the top right of Momentum.
Adding and updating a Manual Metric
With Manual Metrics you can easily add and update custom data on your dashboard.
To add a new Manual Metric:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics Menu
- Click the + icon at the top right corner
- Choose the Manual Metric option
- Update the Name and Value (or leave it blank)
- Choose whether or not you want it to Reset or be Pinned
- Click Save.
What does the Reset option do?
The Reset options change how often your metric resets to 0. This is useful for recurring time-based metrics like daily water consumption or weekly sales calls.
- Daily resets happen at 4 am local time.
- Weekly resets happen on Sundays.
- Monthly resets happen on the 1st day of each month.
- Yearly resets happen on January 1st.
Updating Manual Metrics
To quickly add one unit to the Value of a Manual Metric:
- Click the Metric on your dashboard to open the Metrics Menu
- Hover your mouse cursor over a Metric
- Click the + icon.
To make larger Value changes, click the ⚙️, update the Value, and then click Save.
Adding a Metric Integration
Connecting to a Metric integrations lets you see live data from your other favorite services like Fitbit, Strava, and Todoist within Momentum.
To add a Metric integration:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics Menu
- Click the + icon at the top right corner
- Choose From an Integration
- Click the integration you want to connect to, log in to, and authorize your 3rd-party account
- Pick the Value (e.g. Steps) that you want to see
- Choose whether or not to Pin it to your dashboard
- Click Save.
If you want to see multiple Values (e.g. Fitbit Steps & Calories), add a new metric and choose a different Value.

Adding a URL/API Address Metric
The URL/API Metrics option allows you to create custom metrics that automatically update by linking to an API Address. After adding the API Address you'll be able to display any of the associated data values as long as it doesn't require OAuth.

To add to a URL Metric:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics menu
- Click the + icon at the top right corner, choose the From a URL option
- Give your Metric a Name
- Paste + enter in the URL
- Select the Value you want to display
- Choose whether or not to Rename or Pin
- Click Save.
Editing a Metric
To edit a Metric:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics menu
- Hover your mouse cursor over the Metric you want to edit
- Click the ⚙️ that appears
- Make your changes
- Click the Save button.
Enabling/disabling the 'Show Random' option
Activating Show Random in the Metric options randomly displays one of your un-pinned Metrics along with your pinned ones whenever you reload your Momentum page. This lets you keep a casual eye on certain metrics, without cluttering your Momentum page.
To enable the Show Random option:
- Click one of your Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics menu
- Click the ellipsis (...) at the top right corner of the Metrics menu
- Click the switch next to Show Random.
To disable this option, click the switch next to Show Random again.
Archiving or deleting a Metric
To delete or archive a Metric:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics menu
- Hover your mouse cursor over the Metric you want to delete or archive
- Click the ⚙️ that appears,
- Click the ellipsis (...) option at the top right
- Select the Archive or Delete option.
Deleted metrics are gone for good, while archived metrics can be restored later on.
Viewing/Restoring Archived Metrics
To view your archived Metrics:
- Click + Metric or one of your existing Metrics at the top right of Momentum to open the Metrics menu
- Click the ellipsis (...) option at the top right
- Select the Go to Archive option.
To restore an archived metric, hover your mouse cursor over an archived metric and then click the restore icon.
