Search the web without leaving your Momentum dashboard.
Momentum's built-in Search feature lets you search the web directly from your dashboard. Enter your search, press Enter, and Momentum opens the results in a new browser tab using your selected search provider.
Use Search
The Search bar is located in the top-left corner of your Momentum dashboard.
To search the web:
- Click the Search (magnifying glass) icon.
- Enter your search term.
- Press Enter.
Your search results will open in a new browser tab.
Change your search provider
You can choose which search engine Momentum uses when you search from your dashboard. Available providers include:
- Browser default
- Bing
- DuckDuckGo
- Ecosia
To change your provider:
- Click the Search bar.
- Click the ⋯ (three-dot) icon in the top-right of the Search bar.
- Under Search with, select your preferred search provider.
Your new provider is used for all future searches.
Show or hide Search
Search is enabled by default. You can show or hide it from your dashboard at any time.
To change the Search visibility:
- Open Settings :settings-2:
- Under Show, find Search.
- Turn Search on or off.
Move Search to the center
If you'd rather have Search sit in the center of your dashboard, you can turn this on from General settings.
- Open Settings :settings-2:
- Go to General.
- Turn on Below the center.
- Select Search and links.

Q: Which search engines can I use?
A: Momentum currently supports Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia.
Q: Can I hide the Search bar?
A: Yes. Open Settings, then turn Search off under the Show section.
Q: Does Search open results inside Momentum?
A: No. Search results open in a new browser tab using your selected search provider.
Q: Can I move the Search bar?
A: Yes. Enable Search in Center in the General section of Settings.
