Notes adds a space for you to quickly store textual tidbits that don't quite fit in a Todo list. Use Notes to record, reflect, or remind yourself of the things that are most important to you.

Notes can be turned on or off in the General settings.
- Click the Settings icon at the bottom left corner of the dashboard.
- Click General on the left of side of the settings menu.
- Click the switch to the right of Notes. If the dot is on the left then it is off, if the dot is on the right then it is on, and you'll see Notes appear at the bottom right of the dashboard.
Pro Tip: Pressing the N key will toggle Notes open or closed. This shortcut is not yet supported in Notes' fullscreen mode.
Click Notes at the bottom right of the dashboard and then start typing to create a new note. Once you've typed something, press the enter/return (↵) key to move to the Note editor to view your note in a larger editing space.
- Click Notes at the bottom right of the dashboard.
- Start typing your note, you should see what you type display at the bottom of the Notes menu. If your typing doesn’t appear, click the New Note space at the bottom of the Notes menu.
- Press the enter/return (↵) key on your keyboard to see your note in the Note editor.
Creating a new note while in the Note editor
If you're typing a note in the Note editor and want to create a new note without returning to the Notes menu, click the New Note icon (+) at the top right of the Note editor.
Pro Tip: You can also press the Ctrl + N keys at the same time within the Note editor to create a new note. This shortcut is not yet supported in Notes' fullscreen mode.
Your notes automatically save every 5 seconds and will save the instant you click anywhere outside of the Note editor. You can also click the Back icon (←) at the top left corner of the Note editor, or click Notes at the bottom right of the dashboard to save a note.
Additionally, if you're editing a note while you're offline the changes you make will store locally and update when you're back online.
Pro Tip: If you press the Esc key, or the Cmd (⌘) + enter/return (↵) keys, while in the Note editor it will save the current note and take you back to the Notes menu.
When viewing a note, clicking the Toggle Fullscreen icon at the top right corner will enable fullscreen mode so you can have a fuller and more focused view of your notes.
- Click Notes at the bottom right of the dashboard.
- Click on the note that you want to view/edit in fullscreen mode.
- Click the Toggle Fullscreen icon at the top right corner.
While in full screen mode you'll also find the New Note and Delete Note options at the top right corner.
Pro Tip: You can also toggle fullscreen mode by pressing option + F while Notes is open. To exit fullscreen mode, you can also hit the esc key.
Viewing/hiding your other notes while in fullscreen mode
When you toggle fullscreen mode, your active note is the main focus. To view your list of notes click the Notes List icon at the top left corner. To hide your list of notes click on the X near the top left.
- While in fullscreen mode, click on the Notes List icon at the top left corner. Your list of notes will appear on the left side of your screen.
- Click on the note you want to view/edit.
- To hide your list of notes, click on the X near the top left.
Pro Tip: Pressing option + L will toggle viewing/hiding your lists while in fullscreen mode.
While in the Note editor you can navigate back to the Notes menu by clicking the Back icon (<) at the top left corner of the Note editor.
Pro Tip: If you hold the Cmd (⌘) key and then press either the [ or ] key you can quickly move between notes within the Note editor. This shortcut is not currently not supported in fullscreen mode.

Clicking on one of your notes while on the Notes menu will let you view that note again in the Note editor, where you can continue editing your note.
- Click Notes at the bottom right of the dashboard. The Notes menu will appear.
- Click the note that you want to edit. This will direct you to the Note editor where you can make changes to that note. The changes you make will automatically save after 10 seconds, or as soon as you click away from the note.
View the note that you want to delete in the Note editor and then click the Trash Can icon at the top right corner to delete that note. Deleted notes cannot be restored, so be sure that you'll be okay if you never see it again before deleting it.
- Click Notes at the bottom right of your dashboard. The Notes menu will appear.
- Click the note that you want to delete.
- Click the Trash can icon at the top right corner of the Note editor.
- Click the Checkmark icon (✓) to delete the note. Click the X, Back icon (←) or close Notes to not delete your note.
Pro Tip: If you press the Cmd (⌘) or Windows (❖) + Shift + Delete keys at the same time you can quickly delete a note within the Note editor without the confirmation. This shortcut is not yet supported in Notes' fullscreen mode.
