Press the following key combinations on your keyboard to navigate Notes like a pro!
Opening and closing Notes
Press the N key.
- If it's not working, make sure that another text field (address bar, New Note field, Focus, etc.) isn't selected.
Selecting a note within the Notes menu
Press either the up arrow (↑) or down arrow (↓) key while in the Notes menu.
- A gray label will appear to the left of the note that is currently selected.
View/edit a selected note in the Note editor
Once you've selected a note, press the enter/return (↵) key, or the right arrow (→) key.
Save the current note & return to the Notes menu
Universal: Press the Esc key.
On Mac: Press the command (⌘) + enter/return (↵) keys at the same time on Mac.
On Windows: Use the Esc key. An alternative shortcut is not supported currently.
Moving between notes within the Note editor
Hold the Cmd (⌘) key and then press either the [ or ] key.
- The ] key goes to the next note and the [ key goes to the previous note.
Creating a new note while in the Note editor
On Mac: Press the ctrl + N keys at the same time.
On Windows: This shortcut is not supported currently.
- Also selects the New Note space while on the Notes menu.
Delete a note in the Note editor without confirmation
On Mac: Press the shift + command (⌘) + delete keys at the same time.
On Windows: Press the shift + Windows (❖) + backspace keys at the same time.
Toggle fullscreen mode
Press option + F while Notes is open. To exit fullscreen mode, you can also hit the esc key.
View/hide your notes list while in fullscreen mode
Press option + L to toggle viewing/hiding your lists while in fullscreen mode.
