Your account email keeps you connected to Momentum. It's how you log in, receive important updates, and recover your account if you ever lose access. You can add a secondary email, switch which email is primary, or remove an email you no longer need, so your account stays accessible no matter what.
💡 Why add a secondary email? A verified secondary email keeps you in control of your account. If you ever lose access to your primary inbox, forget your password, or get locked out, you can still log in and recover your account using your secondary email instead.
💡 Note: Not sure which version you're on? Check your version number under Settings :settings-2: > About. If your settings panel looks different from the steps below, try the other version's steps.
Add a secondary email
If you're on Momentum Dash 2.27.1 or later:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click your profile card near the bottom left (shows your name and photo).
- Under Account, select Manage emails.
- Click + Add, enter your backup address, then click Add.
- Check your inbox for a verification email from Momentum and click Verify.
If you're on an earlier version:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click the arrow next to your profile photo and name.
- Select Profile. This opens in a new tab.
- Go to the Emails section.
- Click Add Email, enter your backup address, then click Add.
- Check your inbox for a verification email from Momentum and click Verify.
Once verified, your secondary email is linked to your account and ready to use. You can log in with either your primary or secondary email at any time.
Change your primary email
Your primary email is your main login and notification email. If you'd rather use a different email for these, you can set any verified email on your account as primary.
💡 Note: The Make primary option won't appear until you've verified the secondary email. Only a verified email can be set as primary.
If you're on Momentum Dash 2.27.1 or later:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click your profile card near the bottom left.
- Under Account, select Manage emails.
- Click Set primary next to the email and confirm.
If you're on an earlier version:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click the arrow next to your profile photo and name.
- Select Profile. This opens in a new tab.
- Go to the Emails section.
- Click Make primary beside the email you want to set as your new primary.
Your primary email is now your main login and notification email.
Remove an email
You can remove any email you no longer need, as long as it isn't your current primary.
If you're on Momentum Dash 2.27.1 or later:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click your profile card near the bottom left.
- Under Account, select Manage emails.
- Click the trash icon next to the email and click remove to confirm.
If you're on an earlier version:
- Open Settings :settings-2:.
- Click the arrow next to your profile photo and name.
- Select Profile to open the new tab.
- Go to Emails.
- Click Remove next to the email and confirm.
💡 Note: Your current primary email stays protected from removal. To delete it, first set another email as primary. Once that's done, you'll be able to remove the old one.
The removed email is no longer linked to your account, but you can re-add it anytime.
What secondary emails can do
Keeping a verified secondary email on your account can help you:
- Recover your account if you lose access to your primary email
- Maintain access if one inbox becomes unavailable
- Log in with either email once both are verified
All emails connected to your account still link to the same single Momentum account and dashboard.
💡 Good to know: Adding another email does not create or enable multiple dashboards, different pinned links or metrics, or separate workflows within the same account. Additional emails are for access and recovery, not for creating multiple profiles.
If you'd like distinct dashboards, such as separate work and personal setups, you'll need separate Momentum accounts. Each account supports one complete, independent dashboard.
